What is ATX Tech Trends?
An independent site analyzing the trends shaping Austin's tech economy — what's rising, such as semiconductors and AI; what's cooling, such as the downtown office market; and where the growth is actually landing. Analysis over hype.
Does the site rank or rate companies?
No. We don't publish rankings, roundups, or winners lists, and we don't reproduce anyone else's. What you get here is original analysis of trends, in our own words, built from the public record and cited to it.
How do you decide what counts as a trend?
We weight long-horizon, hard-to-reverse commitments — chip fabs, data centers, multi-year leases — more heavily than one-off headlines. A single deal is data; a pattern of deals is a signal. When something is genuinely uncertain, we say so instead of dressing a guess as a forecast. See the methodology.
Is the content free?
Yes. Everything here is free and accessible — no paywalls, no mandatory signups, no pop-ups.
